Job Description

  • Oversee all plant-level quality assurance and quality control programs, ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, FSMA, and customer requirements.
  • Lead, develop, and coach the QA team, fostering a culture of accountability, food safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and enhance the facility's food safety and quality systems, including GFSI certifications (e.g., SQF, BRC).
  • Lead internal and external audits and manage follow-up actions to drive ongoing compliance and readiness.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, R&D, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to resolve quality issues and drive process improvements.
  • Investigate customer complaints, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor KPIs related to product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational performance.
  • Review and approve specifications, batch records, testing protocols, and sanitation procedures.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging regulations, and quality best practices.
  • Serve as the primary quality point of contact for key customers, third-party auditors, and regulatory agencies.

The Successful Applicant

  • 7+ years of Quality Management or Director-level experience in a food manufacturing facility
  • Bachelor's degree a plus
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, and GFSI schemes (e.g., SQF, BRC).
  • Demonstrated experience leading regulatory and third-party audits.
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and mentor high-performing quality teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., CAPA, Six Sigma).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
