The Senior Procurement Analyst is an essential role within the procurement team, responsible for the development and execution of category management and sourcing strategies across multiple indirect categories, including MRO and other general indirect spend categories.

Job Description

  • Category Strategy Development & Execution: Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for MRO and other indirect categories, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Value Engineering & Program Leadership: Identify opportunities for value engineering, material lifecycle management, and other cost-saving initiatives within the assigned categories.
  • Sourcing Process Management: Apply a structured sourcing methodology from business case initiation to strategy execution, ensuring comprehensive category management activities.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate and lead cross-functional councils to ensure proper execution and ongoing success of category strategies.
  • Market Dynamics Analysis: Monitor market trends and cost drivers, developing strategies to mitigate cost increases and capacity constraints.
  • KPI Establishment & Supplier Performance: Establish category KPIs (cost, efficiency, etc.), lead supplier performance programs, and ensure suppliers meet established performance targets.
  • Supplier Business Reviews: Lead business reviews with suppliers in collaboration with internal stakeholders to assess performance against KPIs and business outcomes.
  • Performance Tracking: Establish benchmark measures at the start of each project and track progress on metrics such as savings, cycle times, and delivery performance.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in strategic procurement
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (maximum).
  • Location: Must be able to work 5 days a week on-site, with flexible hours.

  • Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Knowledge of cost drivers, market trends, and technology influences in industrial goods categories.
  • Proven ability to develop fact-based business cases and drive decision-making.
  • Demonstrated success in category management, cost reduction, and strategic sourcing.
  • Expertise in market benchmarking, cost modeling, and budget forecasting.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to track and report on procurement initiatives.
  • Experience in negotiating and managing supply contracts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with operations, finance, legal, and other departments.
