The client is a global manufacturer of high-reliability materials used across diverse industries including aerospace, energy, medical, oil & gas, and automotive. Their legacy site specializes in advanced coatings found in everyday products like phones, appliances, and vehicles-produced exclusively at this facility and sold worldwide.

Job Description

  • Lead and maintain an IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 compliant quality management system across two manufacturing sites.
  • Manage quality control processes for raw materials, in-process goods, and final product inspections.
  • Apply analytical test protocols and advanced problem-solving tools (8D, 5-Why, FMEA, GR&R) to drive defect reduction and root cause analysis.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation including PPAPs, quality plans, work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams-Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D, and Purchasing-to implement corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Oversee staffing, training, and development of the QA/QC team to ensure alignment with quality and production goals.
  • Interface with customers and suppliers on failure analysis, audits, and special projects, delivering detailed reports and technical support.

The Successful Applicant

  • Holds a BS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
  • Brings at least 5 years of management and hands-on experience with IATF 16949 in a manufacturing environment.
  • Has led QA/QC functions in a lab-based setting, with strong knowledge of analytical chemistry.
  • Demonstrates expertise in statistical tools and software, particularly Minitab.
  • Skilled in problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, GR&R, and 5-Why.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop quality teams while balancing production demands.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed organization with a strong focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
