Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy and Roadmap: Develop and implement comprehensive product strategies aligned with the company's business objectives. This includes creating and managing product roadmaps that address customer needs and market trends.​
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify customer requirements, monitor market trends, and analyze the competitive landscape. Utilize these insights to inform product development and positioning.​
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and manufacturing teams to ensure cohesive product development and successful launches. Facilitate communication between departments to align on goals and timelines.​
  • Product Development Oversight: Lead the product development process from concept to launch, ensuring timely execution and adherence to quality standards. Define product specifications, pricing strategies, and distribution plans for new product introductions.​
  • Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations. Provide technical support to sales teams and directly to customers as needed.​
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze product performance metrics, including sales data and customer feedback, to identify areas for improvement and inform future product strategies.

The Successful Applicant

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, Optical Sciences, or a related technical field. An advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Photonics or Optical Engineering is preferred.​
  • Experience: Proven experience in product management within the photonics or related industry. Familiarity with laser systems, optical components, and light measurement technologies is essential.​
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong technical knowledge in photonics and optics, with the ability to understand and manage the technical aspects of product development. Experience with software tools used in optics and photonics, such as MATLAB, Python, and Zemax, is advantageous.
  • Project Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain budgets. Certifications in project management, such as PMP (Project Management Professional), can be beneficial.​
  • Communication and Leadership: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey product information and value propositions to both internal teams and customers. Strong leadership and team management abilities are crucial.​
