Job Description

As a Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in enhancing our polymer chemistry, coating, and fabrication operations to drive production uptime, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Key responsibilities include:

  • Optimize polymer chemistry lines and related processes to improve uptime, efficiency, productivity, and cost control.
  • Design and execute experiments to refine process parameters and boost performance.
  • Provide safety-focused process design and support to R&D teams, including scientists, engineers, and technicians.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align membrane product development with new product introduction (NPI) initiatives.
  • Support rapid prototyping efforts in close coordination with the product development team.
  • Implement and evaluate process improvements, assessing impacts on quality, throughput, and cost.
  • Diagnose and resolve process deviations and operational issues.
  • Create and maintain thorough process documentation, including P&IDs, SOPs, and detailed process descriptions.
  • Lead scale-up initiatives with external manufacturing partners, including equipment installation, commissioning, and process validation.
  • Train and mentor operators and technicians in process operation and maintenance best practices.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with equipment vendors regarding troubleshooting, upgrades, and new equipment selection.

The Successful Applicant

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
  • Experience in specifying, selecting, and implementing PLC-controlled electromechanical processing equipment.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in chemical/materials-based operations, including pilot-scale chemical production, roll-to-roll manufacturing, or industrial filter fabrication.
  • Proven ability to lead scale-up and prototyping initiatives.
  • Familiarity with control logic and automation systems.
  • Prior experience in a start-up or high-growth manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
