A small, well-established financial advisory firm looking for a hands-on HR Office Manager to join their in-office team. This role combines HR leadership with general office and team support. You'll report to the lead advisor and serve as a key connector across the team ensuring smooth operations, fair policies, and a strong, supported culture.

Job Description



  • Lead HR operations including quarterly check-ins, annual reviews, and California compliance (hourly vs. salaried, sick leave, etc.).


  • Coordinate with third-party payroll and external health benefits broker.


  • Support hiring processes and employee relations issues as needed.


  • Help manage team workflows, identify capacity issues, and support delegation.


  • Provide up to 20 hours/week of office or admin support (e.g., paperwork, paraplanning, account opening).


  • Foster a calm, collaborative work environment and help team members grow in roles that fit their strengths.

The Successful Applicant



  • Formal HR training or certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP)


  • 8+ years of experience, including at least 1 year managing or leading a team


  • Knowledge of California employment law and HR best practices


  • Emotionally intelligent, calm under pressure, and proactive in solving problems


  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small business environment
