Job Description
Lead HR operations including quarterly check-ins, annual reviews, and California compliance (hourly vs. salaried, sick leave, etc.).
Coordinate with third-party payroll and external health benefits broker.
Support hiring processes and employee relations issues as needed.
Help manage team workflows, identify capacity issues, and support delegation.
Provide up to 20 hours/week of office or admin support (e.g., paperwork, paraplanning, account opening).
Foster a calm, collaborative work environment and help team members grow in roles that fit their strengths.

The Successful Applicant
Formal HR training or certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP)
8+ years of experience, including at least 1 year managing or leading a team
Knowledge of California employment law and HR best practices
Emotionally intelligent, calm under pressure, and proactive in solving problems
Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small business environment
