We are working with a Medium Sized Industrial Manufacturing company in their search to add an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to the team due to growth. This position will sit on a team of 3 EHS professionals and will report up into the EHS Manager. The ideal candidate will have 1+ year of EHS experience ideally within a Manufacturing setting. Job Description

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of EHS policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Support hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and audits of work areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Help coordinate and deliver safety training and toolbox talks.
  • Maintain accurate EHS documentation, including safety data sheets (SDS), inspection logs, and training records.
    Participate in environmental monitoring activities such as waste tracking, air or water sampling, and chemical storage compliance.
  • Assist with the development and rollout of EHS communications, safety alerts, and awareness campaigns.
  • Support emergency response drills and help maintain emergency equipment and supplies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a positive safety culture on the shop floor.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (or equivalent work experience/internships).
  • Internship, co-op, or 1-3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial EHS setting.
  • CPR/First Aid or OSHA 10/30 certification.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including use of PPE and exposure to machinery.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the EHS profession.
