Job Description

The Electrical Engineer - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:

  • Product Design & Development: Design, test, and validate analog and digital circuits for electronic products, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Manufacturing Support: Provide technical support to production teams during PCB assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies.
  • Component Selection & BOM Management: Select appropriate electronic components based on performance, cost, and availability. Maintain accurate bills of materials and design documentation.
  • Testing & Validation: Develop and execute test plans for design verification, reliability, and functional testing. Interpret test data and recommend design or process changes as needed.
  • Failure Analysis & Troubleshooting: Perform root cause analysis of failed units and drive corrective actions. Work closely with quality and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving design for manufacturability (DFM), testability (DFT), and cost-efficiency.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure products meet relevant regulatory and industry standards (e.g., IPC, UL, CE, RoHS, ISO 9001). Support documentation and certification processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with mechanical engineers, software/firmware developers, production, and quality assurance teams throughout the product lifecycle.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Electrical Engineer - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical/electronics design within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout software (e.g., Altium, Eagle, OrCAD)
  • Experience with digital and analog circuit design, power supplies, microcontrollers, and signal integrity
  • Familiarity with electronics manufacturing processes including SMT, soldering, and functional testing
  • Strong troubleshooting skills using tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Working knowledge of EMC/EMI design principles and product compliance standards
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Experience with embedded systems or firmware development (C/C++)
  • Knowledge of thermal and mechanical considerations in electronic design
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools or ERP systems
