Throughout their profound history, they have constructed numerous commercial, institutional, and manufacturing buildings, mixed-use facilities, parking structures, renovations, additions, interior fit-outs, water and waste-water treatment plants and other heavy industrial projects throughout the Midwest.Job DescriptionThe Commercial Construction Concrete Estimator will:The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates for various project pursuits, attending pre-bid meetings, and performing site investigationsWith a strong understanding of civil projects-including earthwork, utilities, and concrete structures, the Civil Estimator will communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring accurate pricing and scope of workPrepare estimates for project pursuits, using hard-bid, design-build and conceptual estimatingAttend pre-bid meetings and perform site investigations to prepare estimateRead and understand contract documents (plans, specifications & addenda)Perform detailed quantity take-offs and organizing the quantities with unit pricing in production of an estimateWrite detailed scopes of work for construction contracts to be implemented by Project DeliverySolicit bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliersCommunicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to clarify pricing informationPrepare estimate formats in such areas as general conditions, general bidding, quantity takeoffs and bid analysisAssist with the preparation of bid proposal for submittalPrepare outline schedules and determine critical path for proposed projectsAssist staff members with various special projects related to preconstruction/estimatingSupport project teams with budget developmentCommunicate and reinforce the company vision, values and goalsPerform additional assignments per supervisor's directionMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
